Administrative Assistant

 

EZ Clinical Laboratory, located in East Brunswick, NJ is looking for an experienced administrative assistant. This is a full time, 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday position.

 

Duties and Responsibilities include:

 

  • Maintains supervisor's calendar, appointments, and meetings

  • Maintains internal department reports

  • Responsible for supplies, maintenance coordination, office files

  • Screens calls, visitors, and incoming correspondence

  • Personally responds to procedural requests

  • Determines what requests need to be handled by supervisor or team member

  • Handles variety of situations independently without supervisor review

  • Assists with data entry for projects as needed

  • Retrieve client reports and information from the laboratory LIS as needed

  • Maintains a fair, open communication style ensuring all employees are treated with respect, dignity and consideration.

  • Performs data entry

  • Responsible for inventory control management and all associated paperwork

  • Performs monthly statistical reports

  • Performs incoming and out-going clerical type purchasing activities

  • Act as a liaison between EZ Clinical Lab and the client base

  • Work with specific clients on a daily basis to resolve any matters

  • Research and troubleshoot customer requests

  • Collect and maintain all necessary documentation

  • Work with sales team to coordinate communication between sales staff and potential clients

  • Must have excellent computer and communication skills

  • Bachelors degree required

  • Minimum 2 years of administrative experience in an office environment

Evening Shift Specimen Accessioner

 

Lab Assistance:

  • Receives and organizes biological specimens from medical clients

  • Quickly and correctly enter specimen data into laboratory system

  • Includes physician information, patient demographics, ICD-10 codes

  • Accurately order tests, requiring verification where needed

  • Verify, label, and forward samples to the correct location

  • Extensive computer and phone skills will be utilized to communicate with laboratory staff, clients, phlebotomists, patients, and other laboratories

  • Filing records and other general office duties will be required

  • Other job related duties may be required as necessary

Education/Experience:

  • Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, or equivalent degree

  • Minimum of two years experience in a medical office, hospital, laboratory, or doctor’s office; with experience handling bio-hazardous materials

  • Excellent communication skills, knowledge of medical terminology and medical office procedure, ability to work well as a team member

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy are a must

Clinical Laboratory Supervisor

 

With minimal supervision, directs the activities of work performed by other Technologists, performs and monitors a variety of laboratory testing and analyses, assumes responsibility for problem resolution, and teaches quality control and maintenance.

DUTIES:

  • Performs laboratory analyses within scheduled time frame.

  • Accurately evaluates and solves problems related to pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases of testing

  • Clearly records and communicates results.

  • Recognizes and takes appropriate action on abnormal results and panic values.

  • Maintain a comprehensive documentation system

  • Review and approve validation data for all new reagent lots

  • Analyzes quality control data to ensure accuracy and compliance with established policies.

  • Takes appropriate action to maintain accuracy and precision.

  • Ensure all calibration is valid and performed in accordance with standard procedures

  • Manage proficiency testing

  • Investigate incidents, errors, failures, and notify the lab director in a complete and timely manner.

  • Implement corrective actions according to the lab director instructions

  • Maintains adequate stock levels for assigned area by monitoring existing supplies and assessing future demands.

  • Effectively supervises the daily activities of other Technologies to ensure adherence to all safety policy and established guidelines.

  • Supervise training of new employees and ensure their competency

  • Ensures professional and ethical behavior of subordinates

  • Adapts work activities and assignments according to workload demands.

  • Is responsible for ensuring the shift is adequately staffed.

  • Always maintains the laboratory in an inspection ready mode

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • A Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or other health or life science (e.g., BA, BS, BSN, BSW) is required.

  • Certification by a national agency is required. ASCP or equivalent preferred.

  • Five to seven years as a medical technologist is required. Supervisory clinical laboratory experience preferred.

  • Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and use of basic office equipment is required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum five years experience as a Medical Technologist required; supervisory experience preferred.
