"Why should I get a blood test done?"

Excellent question. Unsurprisingly, it also happens to be the most common questions among the public.
Think of a blood test as an internal snapshot of what's going on inside your body. It's as if you capture your health status (or part, at least) at that specific moment in your life.
After all, you wouldn't want to just leave your health to "luck". Getting blood work done at a clinical lab is one of the best investments you can make. This helps you identify any potential health issues early on and sort them out with your doctor.
However, blood tests are not the only way to identify any potential health issues. Other importance tests include (but not limited to) Echocardiograms (EKG) or Electrocardiograms (ECG). These tests are more specific to the cardiovascular system.
How Often Should I Get a Blood Test Done?

This is an equally-important and common question as well. It's usually the second question patients ask after asking the above-mentioned question.
The most accurate is: it depends!
Why?
Because it depends on your own medical history, current health status, medications, lifestyle, and a plethora of other factors. You and your doctor should be able to narrow down often YOU need to get blood work done.
That said, many doctors recommend getting blood tests every 6 months. This is what's often referred to as "routine blood work".
